Yes! Our kitchen can cater to most dietary requirements, and if we can alter a menu item to suit your requirements we will. Otherwise our amazing kitchen will work with what they can to whip something up. Check in with your waiter when you sit down, and they'll let you know what we have available on the day.
Yes, wherever possible we use organic produce (we're about 95% organic at present). Our meats, dairy products and eggs are all free-range and organically farmed in New Zealand. Our fruit and vegetables are, where possible, organically produced. If we can't get produce to meet our ethical and sustainability standards we won't use it. For more information on our suppliers, feel free to ask any of our waiters or staff.
Sorry, no. When you arrive we'll put you on the waitlist and give you a wait time, but we don't sit you down until all of your group arrives. This allows us to utilise our small space efficiently, and minimise the wait for a table for everyone as best as we can.
If you'd like to bring your own cake, that's totally cool! We charge a $5/head cakeage fee (up to a maximum of $35). We'll put some candles in it, light them up, and plate the cake for you.
No, however you can order fabulous cakes from The Caker and The Pie Piper, both of which are a short walk from Coco's.
Your food takes as long as it takes; we are a busy restaurant and we make good food. This means that sometimes food takes longer than you may expect to arrive in front of you. We aim to give you the best experience we can and we want food to come out as fast as possible for you. If we think food is going to take longer than it should, we'll do our best to let you know in advance. If you're under a time constraint, please let us know when you sit down so we can help you through the best choices for your time frame.
It depends how busy we are. On our busier nights we may close the kitchen at 10pm, on quieter nights we may close any time from 8.30pm. If you're unsure if we're still cooking, it's always a good idea to ring ahead and check.
At the moment, due to heavy construction work on Karangahape Road, the best options for parking are to use the Parkable app via https://parkable.com , or to park in the Wilson Parking building on Cross St / Mercury Lane. Please allow an extra 30mins to find a park and navigate the roadworks and still be on time for your booking, or give us a call on 09 300 7582 if you're running late.
At Level 1 we are taking bookings for tables of two or more. If you're just drinking or snacking, we have left half the restaurant free for walk-ins.
Our sittings are 90 mins long, as we're trying to spread to love and enable as many people as we can to come out and get their Coco's fix. We kindly ask you vacate the table at the time specified by your server, so that we can get it ready in time for the next group. The 'Late Dinner' sitting is a little more flexible so if you prefer a leisurely dinner, we recommend booking in one of those slots. Large groups of 10+ can be given a 2hour dining slot if booking far enough in advance.
You can book by sending through an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we can help you out. We have 2 sittings in Te Awa o Awhina - 4.30pm-7.45pm, and 8.15pm-late. If you would like exclusive use of the room all evening, there is a $100 room charge, and we take a pre-authorisation payment of $10 per person in case of a no-show. The private room can seat 16 people on one large table, or 20 people split across two tables. If you'd like to view the room prior to booking, contact us via email to set up a viewing.
We take what's called a pre-authorising payment - this is a charge that won't come off your card/out of your account unless you cancel with less than 48hours notice, or don't turn up. If you're there on time with all your peeps, the pre-authorisation won't be charged to you, it's that simple! It's basically security for us, because setting aside so many tables means turning away other diners, and when people bail last minute, it can mean a big loss for us.
