Hopefully you find the answer you're looking for...
Are We Vegan Friendly?
Our kitchen can cater to most dietary requirements. We offer a vegan menu, which generally consists of two seasonal vegan pastas, as well as seasonal options for antipasti, sides and pudding. Check in with your waiter when you sit down, and they'll let you know what we have available on the day.
Are We Gluten-Free Friendly?
Our kitchen can cater to most dietary requirements. Our protein mains can be adjusted to be gluten-free, if they aren't already, and we offer gluten free pasta as an alternative for some of our pasta dishes. Check in with your waiter when you sit down, and they'll let you know what we have available on the day.
Do We Use Free-Rage Meats?
Yes. Our meats, dairy products, and eggs are all free-range and farmed in New Zealand. We use local suppliers to ensure that we know where everything is sourced, and how it was grown. This includes not only animal products, but all types of produce, including fruit and vegetables. For more information on our suppliers, feel free to ask any of our waiters or staff.
Do We Use Organic Produce?
We aim to use organic produce where possible. A few things are a bit tricky, but at the moment we are about 95% organic, and are working towards being 100%. Our fruit and vegetables are hand picked by our chefs at local organic markets, in order to ensure quality, and that our ethical and sustainability standards are met. Our produce depends on availability of these products- if we can't get it to meet our standards, we won't use it.
Why Don't We Take Bookings?
There are many reasons, but some of the main ones are;
- It's expensive for us. Confirming bookings via phone and email costs a small business both in time, labour, and the phone bill.
- A lot of diners unconsciously prefer to eat dinner between 7pm and 8pm. Not taking bookings allows us a greater flexibility around what time people come, and encourages diners to come throughout the night, rather than all at one time.
- It's more fun. Coco's is an experience, not just a feed. Having a drink around the bar helps create a relaxing environment- its meant to be fun and enjoyable, and it contributes to the all round experience of a night at Coco's.
What If You're a Big Group?
We take one booking per night at 6pm for a minimum of 10 people. It runs on either a $55 or $65 three-course set menu. You can enquire about this booking option by emailing [email protected]
If this doesn't suit your group, then you can feel free to just turn up.
Can You Save a Table for Your Group When You Arrive?
When you arrive, we'll put you on the waitlist, but we don't sit you down until all of your group arrives. This allows us to utilise our small space efficiently. Once you're all here, we will be able to give you a more accurate time on how long it will be until your table is ready.
How Long is the Wait for Food?
Your food takes as long as it takes. We are a busy restaurant and we make good food. This means that sometimes food takes longer than you expect to arrive in front of you. Ideally, we want food to come out as fast as possible for you. We aim to give you the best experience we can. If we think food is going to take longer than it should, we'll do our best to let you know in advance.
What Time Does Our Kitchen Close?
It depends how busy we are. On our busier nights we may close the kitchen at 10pm. On quieter nights we may close anywhere between 9pm and 10pm. If you're unsure, its always a good idea to ring ahead and check if we're still serving.
