At RED we are taking dinner bookings for tables of 2+. If you're just drinking or snacking, we have left half the restaurant free for walk-ins.

Our Happy Hour reservations have a 60mins time slot. If you fancy another drink, or want to linger over your tiramisu, we can make room for you at the bar - let us know as soon as you can so we can make a plan!
Our dinner reservations have a 90min time slot. For some groups that might cut your Coco's experience short, so if you'd like to stick around longer, talk to your waiter when you arrive and we will find you a spot at the bar for another round of negroni's!
Bookings from 7.45pm are a little more flexible so if you prefer a leisurely dinner, we recommend booking in one of those slots. Large groups can be given a 2 hour dining slot if booking far enough in advance.

You can book by sending through an email to info@cocoscantina.co.nz and we can help you out. We have 2 sittings in Te Awa o Awhina - 4.30pm-7.45pm, and 8.15pm-late. If you would like exclusive use of the room all evening, there is a $120 room charge, and we take a pre-authorisation payment of $10 per person in case of a no-show. If you'd like to view the room prior to booking, contact us via email to set up a viewing.

We take what's called a pre-authorising payment - this is a charge that won't come off your card/out of your account unless you cancel with less than 48hours notice, or don't turn up. If you're there on time with all your peeps, the pre-authorisation won't be charged to you, it's that simple! It's basically security for us, because setting aside so many tables means turning away other diners, and when people bail last minute, it can mean a big loss for us.

Bookings are reserved for diners only. We'll still have half the restaurant and the courtyard available for drinks, snacks, and more casual dining.

Nope! Out street-side tables and courtyard work on a first come first serve basis, so if you're desperate to sit out in the sun, come on down nice and early to nab your spot!

Happy Hour Drinks 4 - 6.30pm: $8 prosecco, Sawmill pilsner, house vino (red or white), $32 Sangria Jug (summer only) , plus the occasional extra!
Happy Hour Pasta 4 - 6.30pm: $15 Spaghetti pomodoro or weekly special served with parmesan & pangrattato shakers. This pasta is vegan and can be coeliac friendly.
Happy Hour Double Happy 4 - 6.30pm: Combo up your Happy Hour Pasta with either a daily antipasti or daily pudding for $20.

Yes! Our kitchen can cater to most dietary requirements, and if we can alter a menu item to suit your requirements we will. Otherwise our amazing kitchen will work with what they can to whip something up. Check in with your waiter when you sit down, and they'll let you know what we have available on the day.

Are we free range? Yes, our meats, dairy products and eggs are all free-range.

If you'd like to bring your own cake, that's totally cool! We charge a $5/head cakeage fee (up to a maximum of $35). We'll put some candles in it, light them up, and plate the cake for you.

No, however you can order fabulous cakes from The Caker and The Pie Piper, both of which are a short walk from Coco's.

Your food takes as long as it takes; we are a busy restaurant and we make good food. This means that sometimes food takes longer than you may expect to arrive in front of you. We aim to give you the best experience we can and we want food to come out as fast as possible for you. If we think food is going to take longer than it should, we'll do our best to let you know in advance. If you're under a time constraint, please let us know when you sit down so we can help you through the best choices for your time frame.

It depends how busy we are. On our busier nights we may close the kitchen at 10pm, on quieter nights we may close any time from 8.30pm. If you're unsure if we're still cooking, it's always a good idea to ring ahead and check.

The best options for parking are to use the Parkable app via https://parkable.com , or to park in the Wilson Parking building on Cross St / Mercury Lane. Please allow an extra 15-20mins to find a park and still be on time for your booking, or give us a call on 09 300 7582 if you're running late.

Due to the heavy roadworks on Karangahape Rd, your best options to pick up your takeaways are to either park in the loading zone outside Studio on 340 Karangahape Rd and walk to the front door, park on Galatos St or West Terrace and come to the front door.

Yes we do! We are offering online ordering, and a choice of contactless pick-up or delivery through Delivereasy. You can order any time for pick-up between 4.30pm - 8.30pm, and deliveries can be ordered 4.30pm - 8.30pm.

Absolutely! For pick-ups, you can order up to a week in advance, just choose your pick-up date and time from the drop-down menu. Deliveries can be placed between 4.30pm - 8.30pm as a pre-order as well.
